How does this process work?

The process is pretty straightforward, but, as with anything custom, there are a lot of questions to be answered. See this link for more details.

How long does this process take?

The exact timing depends on many variables such as the scope of the project, how busy we are, and availability of materials (mostly fabric). Call for specific timing. In general though, 8-10 weeks for a new sofa is typical, as is 6-8 weeks for reupholstery.

Do you offer delivery and installation services?

Yes, we deliver almost anywhere in the Northern Utah area. For customers outside that area, we’ll provide an estimated freight quote. Just let us know up front where it is going and we’ll get that estimate for you. Customers are also welcome to pick up/drop off items directly at our shop.

Can I bring my own fabric?

Yes, you can. If you already have your own fabric, just let us know. Most customers will save money by purchasing fabric through Sofa Biz for two reasons.

1: We offer a discount on labor if you buy one of our fabrics.

2: We can usually secure more affordable fabric than you can find at a store or through a designer. We have over 10,000 physical samples that you can check out and take home and access to millions of other samples online.

Do you sell fabric and leather?

Yes, if you have a project and just need some good quality fabric or leather, let us know. We can either source one that you’ve already found, or we can help you find one. Best of all, it will ship directly to you. See this list of current vendors that we carry.

Do you work with leather?

Yes, we do. Leather is a great option for a breathable, natural material that lasts a very long time. That said, it is also one of the most expensive options. We have hundreds of top-grain leathers to choose from, including the top-of-the-line full-aniline leathers.

Do I need an appointment to visit?

No. During our regular hours, you can stop by any time you’d like. If you need to meet with us outside those hours, please contact us and we’ll do our best to accommodate your schedule.

Do you work on recliners?

No. Recliners are a lot more involved and require a much greater time commitment on our part. We are typically too busy to be able to work on recliners. Most upholsterers whom we know are in a similar situation. If you insist on reupholstering a recliner we can make some recommendations, but be prepared to pay extra for it.
